Diagnostic testing is one way to assess the underlying pathology for each individual. At Medella Wellness we may recommend one or more of the following tests to help pinpoint the issues affecting your health.
Acugraph Digital Meridian Imaging Testing
We use the AcuGraph Digital Meridian Imaging system as an integrated approach to your healthcare. This computerized tool is a system that measures and analyses the electro-conductivity (or energy levels) of each of the acupuncture meridians.
Meridians are a network of energetic pathways that pass through the organs and tissues of the body. The Chinese call this energy Qi (pronounced chi).
A moistened probe attached to the AcuGraph software is used to touch acupuncture points on the hands and feet. The entire exam only takes about 2 minutes and all you need to do is remove your shoes and socks, hold a metal bar and sit comfortably during the exam. During the exam, you will hear the computer produce gradual tones that mean the exam is progressing properly. AcuGraph uses a tiny painless electric current to test the conductivity of each of your acupuncture meridians. This electrical current is extremely safe so anyone can take it even infants and the elderly, except the ones who have a pacemaker or other implanted medical device.
The AcuGraph exam will show the balance of energy in your acupuncture meridians. This balance or imbalance is an important key to understanding the state of your health and potential health issues. Armed with this information, we can make better-informed decisions about your condition, and provide the best treatment possible to assist in restoring health balance and improve wellbeing.

In addition to the pulse rate, we feel the quality of the pulse, not only over-all, but in specific positions on the wrist that relate to different aspects of the body. The abdomen is the center of the body, and assessing the tone, warmth, and balance of the abdomen is another way to understand what points and formulas can help.
